Artist’s Comments: FRONTIER DAYS IS TERRIBLE. Who invented this stupid rodeo thing? There are horses blocking the staff parking lot where I work, damn it!

Wow, Lance is failing this retrieval mission so very hard that I’m tempted to facepalm. Anybody want to give me odds for a bet the little kid will be backstabbing daddy while he’s arguing with or wrangling sass-boy?
Artist’s complaint:
Using the power of the interwebs I have guessed you’re talking about either Cheyenne Frontier Days event or one of a few similar events like it. If so you get to blame people who were so bored this idea sounded like fun to them back around 1897, or possibly even earlier if the Cheyenne version is not the oldest. From the press kit for the Cheyenne one:
“Wyoming is proud of its “Wild West” history. While the number of the “Cowboy State’s” true cowpokes may be relatively small, every summer since 1897 Cheyenne and surrounding communities truly do enter a cowboy state of mind.”
I’d like to think that big rodeos like Cheyenne Frontier Days aren’t SO awful if you just avoid them, but I happen to work at a building that’s on the parade route–which means getting to work during that week can be quite a chore…
